Welcome. I'm Lilly Lodge and would like you to consider me your seasonal resource for the family. With half a lifetime of experience as wife, mother, and now grandmother, I'd like to share thoughts, activities, books, stories, recipes and ideas to make your life easier, more fun and more rewarding.
The whole seasonal idea comes from the fact that each season of the year we and our families tend to focus on different activities, different foods and different feelings about what is important now. As the seasons change, I'll offer up suggestions to help you keep your sanity, keep it together, and love life and your special family.
On my BLOG page, I'll dish up things that worked for me and my family as well as ideas I am hearing from other parents that you'll find handy. And, as always, you are more than welcome to comment and share with all of us.
In the PRODUCTS area, my first book, "How to Teach Kids About Money," is a process for teaching kids first how to act responsibly, become part of the family "team," and eventually learn the value of money and how to handle money. The book is based on our family's experiences, and a lot of the ideas may work for you, too. The key is for you to take what worked for our family and modify it so it works with your family. I've been asked to do a follow-up volume on teaching your kids to invest the money they save. Since I'll be interviewing experts in the field, I hope it will be a help for parents, too.
There will be more e-books to help you make additional money on eBay; survive the "what's for dinner?" question that somehow surfaces every evening when you are sometimes too tired to cook, just to name a few. There are plans for audio books, as well, some of which will be stories for you and your kids to share.
